Sailing and going ashore

Sun-baked, wind-blown, and sailing savy. I am now officially in love with sailing, having experienced my first sail to Beecher Point, in East Sooke. It was roughly a 5 hour sail, and we had smooth sailing but not much wind. We anchored in Beecher cove amidst jutting rocks and ship wrecks and settled down for the night. There were some rougher swells at night and I felt like I was sleeping in a hammock swinging at a good pace all through the night.
Nothing beats waking up on a sailboat. We boiled some water for coffee and sat on deck in the mellow morning sunlight, with only trees, waves, and a friendly cove for company. It was supremely blissfull.
On the sail home we had a bit more wind, I got to steer, and we put up the many colored spinaker balloon sail to scoop out a little wind.
Now I understand why people want to take a year off and sail around the world.......
