I love the wood floors. They look so lived in and loved, like a pair of worn jeans.

exactly. i find i love old things so much more than new things. my vintage bike Mathilde who was given to me, all the old cars that i see around are so much more stylish than shiny new SUV's and every other hybrid car that looks the same. clothes from the 40's, toasters.... books. the list could go on and on. and it includes our wooden floors that were previously the floors of a theatre.

ok I agree. Old look so great, the problem is, most of the time, those old cars are so much worse for the environment. and actually most of the old functionnal things are also using more energy. But for the old bike, i do agree. Actually, I should bring you back an old finish bike, They are so perfect and so gorgeous. Somehow we always feel like we're in the 50's when we ride them.
